How we handle your personal information.
This Privacy Policy explains what data G.U. Industries collects, why it is collected, how it is used, and the rights and choices you have. It applies to our website, any G.U. Industries mobile application distributed through Google Play or other channels, and any related services.
01Scope of this Policy
This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) describes how G.U. Industries (“G.U. Industries”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, stores and protects personal information when you:
- visit our website at guindstrs.com or its subdomains;
- install or use any G.U. Industries mobile application, including applications distributed through Google Play;
- contact us by telephone, email, messaging service or in person;
- request a quotation, place an order, or do business with us.
By using our website, application, or services, you confirm that you have read this Policy and understand how your data will be handled. If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use our services.
02Personal Data We Collect
We only collect the information we need to provide our services. The categories below describe what may be collected.
2.1 Information you provide directly
- Identity & contact details — name, company, phone number, email address and postal address shared via enquiry forms, quotations, telephone calls, or in-person communication.
- Project information — drawings, specifications, photos, written briefs, or other technical material that you choose to share with us.
- Order & transaction records — purchase orders, invoices, delivery notes, payment references, and related commercial documentation.
- Correspondence — any messages, emails, or communication you send to us, including any attachments.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Device & connection data — IP address, device type, operating system, browser type and language, mobile operator (where applicable), approximate location derived from IP, and timestamps.
- Usage data — pages viewed, referring URLs, in-app screen views, interaction events, crash diagnostics, and performance metrics.
- Cookies & similar technologies — small files stored on your device to remember preferences and measure performance. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
2.3 Information from third parties
We may receive limited information from analytics, crash-reporting or advertising providers that act on our behalf, and from payment or logistics partners as needed to fulfil orders.
03How We Use Your Data
We use the personal data described above for the following purposes:
- to respond to your enquiries, prepare quotations, and provide engineering and manufacturing services;
- to process and deliver orders, including invoicing, dispatch, and after-sales support;
- to operate, maintain, and improve our website and mobile application, including diagnosing crashes and measuring performance;
- to communicate with you about your projects, orders, or any updates that are important to our business relationship;
- to keep accurate business records as required under Pakistani tax, commercial, and regulatory law;
- to protect our services from misuse, fraud, or security incidents;
- to comply with legal obligations, court orders, or lawful requests by authorities.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for targeted advertising outside of our own services.
04Legal Basis for Processing
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on one or more of the following:
- Performance of a contract — when we process data to fulfil an order or provide a service you have requested;
- Legitimate interests — for operating, securing, and improving our website, application and services in a proportionate way;
- Consent — where you have actively opted in (for example, to non-essential cookies or marketing communications), which you may withdraw at any time;
- Legal obligation — where we must process data to comply with applicable law.
06App Permissions (Google Play)
If you use a G.U. Industries mobile application distributed through Google Play, the app may request the following permissions on your device. Each permission is requested only when needed, and used solely for the stated purpose:
- Internet / network state — required for the app to communicate with our servers and load content.
- Storage (scoped) — if used, only to cache content and to allow you to attach drawings or photographs you choose to send to us.
- Camera (optional) — only if you choose to capture and attach a photograph from within the app; we do not access the camera in the background.
- Notifications (optional) — only if you opt in, to deliver order, quotation, or service updates.
The app does not request access to contacts, call logs, SMS, precise location, microphone, accounts on the device, or any restricted permissions, unless a future feature explicitly requires it — in which case we will obtain in-context consent, disclose the purpose, and update this Policy.
You can review and revoke individual permissions at any time from your device’s Settings › Apps › G.U. Industries › Permissions.
07Third-Party Services
To operate efficiently, our website and application may use a limited number of third-party services. Each of them has its own privacy policy, which governs their handling of the data routed through them on our behalf. Categories we may use include:
- Web hosting and content-delivery providers;
- Analytics and crash-reporting (for example, to understand which pages perform poorly or which screens crash);
- Telephony or messaging providers used to receive your enquiries;
- Email service providers used to respond to enquiries.
We select providers that offer industry-standard security and contractual protections, and we instruct them to use your data only for the services we have asked them to perform.
08Data Retention
We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes set out in this Policy, and in line with our legal and contractual obligations:
- Enquiry messages without an order — up to 24 months from last contact;
- Customer order records, invoices and shipping documentation — retained for the periods required by Pakistani tax and commercial law (typically up to 7 years);
- Technical logs and crash reports — up to 12 months in identifiable form, after which they are aggregated or deleted;
- App preferences and cached content — until you uninstall the app, clear app storage, or revoke the relevant permission.
When personal data is no longer required, we delete it or irreversibly anonymise it.
09Security of Your Data
We take the security of personal data seriously and apply organisational and technical measures designed to protect it, including:
- encryption of data in transit over public networks (HTTPS / TLS);
- restricted access to systems on a need-to-know basis;
- secure storage of physical records relating to orders and quotations;
- periodic review of access logs and update of software components;
- contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations on service providers.
While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot therefore guarantee absolute security.
10Your Rights & Choices
Subject to applicable law, you may have the following rights in respect of your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- Deletion — ask us to delete personal data we no longer need to retain;
- Restriction or objection — ask us to limit certain processing where you have grounds to object;
- Portability — ask us to provide certain data in a structured, machine-readable format;
- Withdraw consent — where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting prior lawful processing.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in Section 15. We will respond within a reasonable time frame and may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.
11Account & Data Deletion
You can request deletion of personal data associated with you (including any account or in-app data) by emailing us or calling our office, using the details in Section 15. Your request will be acknowledged within 7 working days and, where lawful, completed within 30 days.
For users of our mobile application distributed through Google Play, you may also:
- uninstall the application to remove locally-stored data from your device;
- contact us with the email address or phone number you provided through the app to request server-side deletion of any associated records.
Please note: certain records (such as invoices and tax documents) must be retained for the periods required by applicable law and cannot be deleted earlier — those will be securely stored and used only for compliance purposes.
12Children’s Privacy
Our website, application and services are intended for business customers, engineers, procurement professionals, and adult users. They are not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete that information from our records.
13International Data Transfers
G.U. Industries is based in Pakistan. Where service providers we rely on are located outside Pakistan, your personal data may be transferred to and stored in other countries whose data-protection laws may differ from those of your country of residence. In such cases we take steps to ensure your data continues to receive appropriate protection through contractual commitments and recognised safeguards.
14Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our services, legal requirements, or industry practice. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this Policy and, where appropriate, notify you through our website or application.
We encourage you to review this Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your personal information.
